One presentation I really enjoyed from yesterday’s class was Hannah Little’s (hlittle1.uneportfolio.org). She showed us pictures of paintings in the Portland Museum of Art that reminded her of hikes she has been on and mountains she’s climbed. I also liked how Hannah shared pictures of hikes she has completed. I connected to this presentation because I absolutely love hiking and anything outdoors, so Hannah’s pictures and emphasis on the little things really resonated with me. As I was getting ready to leave home for college, I realized how important it is to enjoy the little things in life. My hometown of Juneau, Alaska is surrounded by mountains and has countless trails to explore, so during my junior year of high school, I began spending more and more time outside. I especially love exploring all the mountains near my house. I enjoyed Hannah’s presentation because of how much I can relate to it, and seeing pictures of her hike up Mount Chocorua inspired me to prioritize getting outside and enjoying the small things in life while I’m in New England.
